Why is the AI Associate certification exam being retired?

Salesforce recently launched Agentblazer Status, a new program designed to build and recognize your AI and Agentforce skills. As we embrace this new program, we need to evolve our exam catalog, specifically the AI Associate Certification, which will retire February 2, 2026. Both Agentblazer Status and the Agentforce Specialist certification provide two exciting ways to build and validate your AI and Agentforce skills.

What if I’m already scheduled to take the AI Associate exam after May 1, 2025. What will happen to my exam registration?

You should have received an email letting you know that you need to reschedule your exam for before May 1, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST.  If you do not reschedule your exam to be completed by May 1, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST, your exam will be cancelled.

Should I still take the AI Associate certification exam even though it’s being retired in February, 2026?

No. We recommend both Agentblazer Status and the Agentforce Specialist certification to build and validate your AI and Agentforce skills. As a reminder, the Agentforce Specialist certification exam is available for free as part of the AI for All initiative.

I’m already certified. What will happen to my AI Associate certification?

AI Associate certifications earned before May 1, 2025 will retire on February 2, 2026. Your certification status on your Trailblazer profile will show as “Retired” and your status will not be visible on the Certification Verification page.

Conclusion

The retirement of the Salesforce AI Associate Certification marks the end of an era but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter as Salesforce has already launched Agentblazer Status  and changed its AI Specialist Certification into Agentforce Specialist certification.
